Solder and Flux
Solder: You will need medium, soft, and hard solder and it comes in a sheet or in a wire.
Flux: This is what is used to help the solder stick to the metal. It can also help to prevent oxidation.
Pickle and Pot: Your metal will need to be cleaned. Pickle is an acidic solution. A small crock pot is the ideal container that it can be stored in.
Brush: A small paint brush is ideal as it can help you to apply the flux.
You will need a torch tip that can be added to a propane tank. A pencil torch tip is ideal.
You will need to purchase a metalsmithing book, one that tells you all you need to know about metalsmithing. Chances are, you’ll use it for many years to come.
