If you follow me on Twitter then you will no doubt understand the regular battle which I have with parking in Boston, MA. Whilst I understand that it is a busy city, the approach to parking here is a nightmare and over the years I have wrestled with parking garages, traffic cops and even the city council at one stage! All of my woes are now over however and I have found the perfect place for parking in Boston,MA, and that is the Dock Square parking garage. I have written enough about those who do it wrong so let’s take some time out for those who are doing it right.
I once had a garage which I thought that I could rely on but when I upgraded my hatchback to a sedan everything went wrong. All of a sudden I was close to every car, risking damage at all turns and I had to give them up entirely. Too many parking garages are trying to cram in as many cars as possible resulting in chaos and risk of damage. Here at Dock Square however there is plenty of space and they have even gone to lengths to allocate certain spaces to small cars, and others to larger vehicles.
I have thankfully not been a victim of any car vandalism but I have friends and colleagues who have, whilst their vehicles were parked in a garage. The very lowest expectation which you should have from a parking garage is that they provide you with a very secure place to leave your vehicle, and it should be monitored. Dock Square have an outstanding reputation for this and the entire garage is fitted with cameras, there is vigilance from all staff and having just one way in and out helps out with this too. Why so many get it wrong is beyond me, security should be the most important thing for a garage.
Something which I have noticed during my years of seeking out the perfect parking spot is just how much of an extortionate industry parking can be. It seems that if there is no competition around then you can charge whatever you want and it should certainly not be this way at all. Dock Square parking understand this perfectly and whilst there is no real competition around them and they could, if they wished, charged their own inflated prices, they do not and they have prices which are more than reasonable, especially given their location in Boston, MA. What I particularly enjoy as someone who leaves their vehicle there for long periods of time, is that long term stays are slightly cheaper than short term, and they even have a loyalty scheme for regular uses where they can see some small savings.
If you are looking for a perfect parking garage then this is the standard which you should be looking for, if you are in Boston,MA, Dock Square is the best place to go.
